Managing Brand Authorization in the Customer Portal

Welcome to the Brand Authorization Page Overview. This guide explains how Skulytics lets you confirm and manage distributor and brand access for your account. See how this boosts compliance, security, and data visibility.
Where to Find

Go to the Customer Portal. In the left sidebar, click Brand Authorizations. This section, located below Webhook, provides full access to manage authorized brands and contact details.

Complete your Business Information before adding or managing brand authorizations. Click Complete Profile. Enter your business details to enable Brand Authorization access.
Your Business Information

Click Complete Profile. In the pop-up form, enter your Business Name and Business Address.
Business Name
Enter your company’s registered name. Skulytics uses it to confirm your business for authorization.Business Address
Provide your company’s primary business address, including number, street, city, country, and zipcode. This information helps confirm your business location for compliance purposes.
Fill in both required fields, then select Save Changes to update your business profile and unlock access to the Brand Authorizations page.

Once your business information is complete, you’ll be redirected to the Brand Authorizations page. Here, you can view your registered business details at the top and start managing your authorized brands. Use the Add Brand Authorization button to register a new brand or search for existing authorizations using the search bar.
How to Add a Brand Authorization
Once your business profile is complete, you can create a new Brand Authorization request to connect your account with approved brands or distributors.
Follow these steps:
Click “Add Brand Authorization”
This will open a pop-up form where you can submit your brand authorization details.Fill out the required fields:
Distributor / Brand Name
Enter the official name of the distributor or brand you’re authorized to represent.
Example: “Samsung Appliances” or “GE Parts”Brands
Search and select all brands for which you request authorization. This ensures the authorization is linked to the correct brand(s) in the system. You can type to search and choose multiple brands if applicable.Distributor / Brand Rep Email
Enter the contact email for your brand or distributor representative. This email will be used for verification and communication regarding your authorization request
Example: name@brandpartner.comDistributor / Brand Account #
Enter your account or partner ID provided by the brand or distributor.
This helps verify your relationship with the brand for approval.

Click “Save”
After entering all details, click Save to submit your request. Once saved, your request will appear in the Brand Authorizations list with a Pending status.
💡 Tip: Make sure all details match your official distributor records to avoid delays in authorization approval.
Understanding Authorization Status
After submitting your Brand Authorization request, you can track the progress and view your brand relationships directly on this page. Each card shows Distributor, Email, Account #, and Status for full visibility into your authorizations.

Here’s what each status means:
🟢 Confirmed
Your brand authorization has been successfully verified and approved.
You can now access brand-specific data and features associated with this authorization.
Example: AGA
🟡 Pending
Your request has been submitted and is currently under review.
Once verified by the Skulytics or brand partner team, the status will automatically update to Confirmed.
Example: Bosch
🔴 Rejected
The authorization request could not be verified or was denied by the brand. You can update your distributor information or contact your brand representative fot clarification.
Example: Whirlpool
💡 Tip: You can search for a specific brand, distributor, or account number using the search bar at the top of the page to quickly locate your records.
How Brand Authorization Status Changes
When you first submit a brand authorization, its status will appear as Pending.
The Skulytics team will then contact the brand to confirm whether the distributor information provided is valid.
If the brand confirms the details are correct, the status will change to Approved (Confirmed).
If the brand rejects or cannot verify the information, the status will change to Rejected.
Once approved, all related data points become available through the API. This process ensures that brand data shared through the API remains accurate, secure, and verified at all times.
💡Info: Any future changes made to the authorization details will automatically reset the status back to Pending until re-verified.
Data Access Restrictions by Authorization Status
If the status is Rejected, certain data points, such as product images, documents, videos, and 360° assets, will be restricted while other data remains accessible. At this stage, restrictions apply only to image assets. In the future, additional data point limitations may be introduced based on individual brand policies.
